Poem
for My Friend Ally
and Late Sister Deborah
Life
– a fleeting thought on the wings of time Here
today, gone tomorrow Ashes
to ashes, dust to dust Or
the balance of scales can subtly tip To
embrace the more beautiful aspects of life Encompassing
all its complexities in the vacuum of love Beauty
in the omnipresence of the span of a butterfly’s wings The
translucent drizzle of azure thrown out to sea And
touching the sky The
smell of an orchard and the scent of honeydew Upon
the mist of the morning The
essence of life itself, dominates our very existence Life
– a constant work in progress Life
– a journey through the subliminal into The
tunnel of enlightenment Life
– a voyage of emotional transition Love
and hate, peace and war, joy and pain And
pain…and pain Life
– that is just what it is A
cacophony and a myriad of everything that makes The
very essence of living a journey Yet
remember, you are not alone on your journey For
in the footprints of the sand God
walks with you Through the love and support of your friends
